Lemonade is truly so insipid. A bunch of mindless urban drivel and drowsy pop ballads,.
It's so overrated. 'Sorry' & 'Don't Hurt Yourself' are the only songs I use from it. It's deserving of the acclaim it's getting though, because of the concept/imagery. But musically - very overrated
Beyst stans have point they hear more SL than WFL cause (at least here) they rarely play her recent songs (which means since I am a Prostitute era) unlike Rhenna
In any case, to return to our approximate tally: After $78,000 to make the song, and another $1 million to roll it out, Rihanna's "Man Down" gets added to radio playlists across the country, gets a banner ad on iTunes ... and may still not be a hit.
As it happens, "Man Down" has not sold that well, and radio play has been minimal.
So glad the Beyst doesn't pay 10x the amount it cost to make the song to promote them on radio anymore. What an unsustainable distribution model. I guess it's great for artists who need the help. But others just shift albums and sell out tours on the strength of their artistry.
