What's seriously annoying about the Beatles is that they were iconic when they became popular, but that was back in the 1960s. It's the 21st century now. I don't think any song or album would be used that long after it was released. As in, kids who were born anytime after 1990 probably doesn't have Beatles music on their phone. So, while they were considered iconic at the time, I don't think as many people consider them iconic today (half of them are dead).

HOWEVER, I don't think it's fair to put them against Beyoncé. Beyoncé is only six albums into her career. Come back to this in about 10 years and she if she's still iconic. What I'm saying is, singers are only iconic for a certain amount of time, until someone newer and fresher comes along and replaced them (example: Madonna & Gaga). I personally haven't heard many of the Beatles songs, but I can appreciate that they were iconic in their time.

I do want to say though, every time I say I don't like their music, I usually get attacked by whoever I'm with, and the usual argument is that they were iconic in their time. To that I say, I'm sorry I didn't live in the 1960s. I seriously hope I never try to force the next generation to like GaGa just because I did. It's pathetically sad.
