Not true in the slightest. That's when people started to hear her. She's been dropping hints and complaining about his decisions for her career since the Animal era. She wanted Animal, Stephen and The Harold Song (and Kiss N Tell? idk if that was her or RCA) as singles, plus spoke out about Die Young after the controversy.
But basically yeah, she wanted to grow and progress as an artist and Luke held her back a ton and it didn't even work in either of their favours.
Kesha recorded True Colors because she wanted to; not because anyone told her it was a good idea, that's what makes this different to most of her singles even though it's still being released through Kemosabe.
