I always argue that music that's both commercial AND envelope pushing is the best case scenario.
I came for BJ/JLo because of their minimal musical knowledge or input in their most recent releases, the dumbed down nature of it and purchased vocalists... it detracts from what music is supposed to be and substitutes an importance on celebria and monetary value rather than musical value. And in these cases their isn't really much artistic expression going on by any means.
