I like "Dreamgirls" but whenever i think of DG...i think of all the negativity & hate Bey received during that era. of course Bey always gets that....but it seemed to be at an all time high during the BDay/Dreamgirls era. then the media was pitting her against JHud. and all the backlash & stuff every time JHud won an award in Bey's face. it kinda tainted the movie to me....so i've only seen it like twice. i listen to the soundtrack more.
It's so pathetic how there are people who make a living doing everything in their power to pit celebrities against each other. Like.. that is their career. And it's even more sad when it's between women as gracious as Bey and JHud. They're both so selfless and genuine and the fact that there were people who tried so hard to create some sort of feud is just like disgusting to me.

Not necessarily. If anything this movie could have easily been a Tidal exclusive. However, I feel this project is too big for Tidal to accommodate. Beyonce's fanbase and global reach is larger than Tidal. Plus she already has an established relationship with HBO(just as she does with Apple)
I wonder if it's actually gonna be a real movie rather than a collection of MVs that are in some way connected, but could still be viewed individually.
I just remembered Janet did this 30 minute RN1814 movie which contained three of the music videos off the album and also added a storyline. I wonder if it was any inspiration to Bey.
