It Follows
The Evil Dead (remake)
The Cabin in the Woods
Hostel 1 & Hostel 2
The Town That Dreaded Sundown
Se7en (not "horror" but still thrilling/creepy)

Sorry to bombard you all with a list of movies I own haha

I literally just finished The Invitation and came running here to say a big ****ing THANK YOU to the person who recommended this. MY GOD what a BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT movie. This is by bar one of the best movies I have ever seen, and not just in the horror genre.
My mind is seriously BUZZING right now.

Incredibly intense, perfectly built tension, PHENOMENAL acting, PHENOMENAL writing, PHENOMENAL script. Seriously, I'm blown away.
The way it makes you use your mind and look out for any little piece of information to help you understand what the **** was going on, some of the dialogues were plain GENIUS,
the way I've tried to unravel the story and make theories on who was good, who was not, if someone was mentally ill, if there was indeed a cult and something bad was eventually going to happen.
In a moment, I actually thought the male lead would turn up being mentally ill after the death of his son, going crazy and murdering everyone.
And there were some very interesting ideologies and statements in this movie, which I LOVED.
So basically,
in order for these people to get over the pain was to murder everyone connected to the incident that caused them pain. The woman couldn't take it and killed herself.
When In reality, It was actually a master attack, formed by that Doctor in Mexico. Just WOW.

I LOVED how it ended. It almost felt like a post apocalyptic ending, with a possible sequel.
I must say, the woman lead's performance was INCREDIBLE. She was so unnerving as a character, and she portrayed it PERFECTLY. I felt so uncomfortable watching her.

Truly a MAGNIFICENT film. I highly recommend it to everyone.

It's such a shame that horror/thriller movies don't get much attention when it comes to Award Shows. This movie definitely deserves a few nominations in many categories. I'm seriously blown away.
I truly hope there's a sequel. That ending was the PERFECT set up.

Just got done viewing The Invitation. BRILLIANT film in every aspect. cypriotpcdfan basically nailed everything with the above post. Well deserving of all its acclaim. The slow build up led to a nice pay off. VERY intense watch, I jumped & gasped several times. Will def. watch again.
Let me check out "Hush" now.

This makes me smile. It is by far my favorite horror movie I have seen coming out this year. Just so perfectly executed and I'm glad to read that people are loving it!

Yes they are AMAZING, I've watched each of them like 3 times.

4 > 1 > 3 > 2 though. So you'll have to put up with two only above average quality middle movies but the first and the last are great.

They are so great. They were notably responsible for bringing slashers back in the late '90s/early '00s and are clever, funny, scary, and just fun. Love them, you should watch them all! The second one is my favorite, followed by 1 and 4, with 3 being the weakest, though it's still good.

 Thanks!
I just recently watched the first Scream trailer and I can tell that Scary Movie ruined it for me. Although after watching the other trailers I can say that I'll enjoy the rest of the series. I'll watch them all later thanks again!

They're fantastic. The 4th one is my favourite. 4 > 1 > 2 > 3. They films are a satire to the cliches in horror films. They're really well done.
