The ARTPOP era was WAY weirder than the BTW era (much of that on purpose).

By booklet, I meant the album photoshoot. The first promo picture released was this:
She showed up to the VMAs wearing this:
...as opposed to the BTW era starting with her showing up to an award show in an egg, wearing prosthetic horns.
I'm just saying she started off toned down. The end result is a different story.

I'm not saying that she sold out. I'm saying she just pulled it back a bit. Instead of going full out crazy she just showed a bit of quirk every now and again... Until the album actually came out. Then she said **** it and went off the deep end.
