I still think that BTW is more of a masterpiece than ARTPOP though. Especially when you move the songs around from all of her albums and put them on the albums where they make the most sense.
Madonna this Way was #1 for six weeks and catered to the biggest part of her fanbase, the gays. The message of the song wasn't what ended up ruining her. Her overall "weirdness" during the era and the pretension that followed into the next era is what did it. People thought she became too weird, not too gay. They got tired of her antics. She could have gained all of those fans back had she played her cards right, but she didn't.
Nah people def thought she became too gay. The weird aspect played a part but you can't just deny the fact that people were not here for all the homo talk.

Being "too gay" was a fairly minor part of the decline to be honest
The main problem was BTW was a terrible album since she didn't have Akon and RedOne ghost-writing all her songs for her (she's a terrible songwriter)
Faga deserves no respect for what she pulled with the gays when she used to be big She was a witch (she even has the big nose part down). All these plans just for her own gain while the vulnerable went down the way side what with all the sterotypes aimed at them. It must've been hard to be a bullied gay in the era of Lady Gaga (2009-2011)
