i remember we had a guy similar to this come to my college, with basically the exact same story. our guy was so annoying and they made us read his stupid book about how military school makes you an amazing person or whatever and nobody liked it so it was completely pointless i'm honestly not really a fan of these types of speakers because i feel like they generalize their individual experience to everyone when it's really not always the same.

that said i do understand the problem with urban schools, but i think it's a deeper issue than just them not trying hard enough (that might be a factor in it, but it's not the whole issue)

The fact that the US has 'black schools' , 'latino schools' and 'white schools' speaks volumes. Why are there schools that are almost entirely one race?

He's wrong about non-black children, some of them are just as bad as the black teenagers he scolded.

Anyway, I'm not gonna negate everything he says because some children act like they don't have ANY respect whatsoever. The first step towards change starts in the home, and some parents need to learn how to give their kids proper discipline.

The truth

Y'all bashing him probably haven't even watched the video and think that all of these students' problems are simply because of "oppression." They are responsible for their own actions, and if you're in high school, no matter how poor your education is, you should at least have the decency to stfu while someone else is speaking.

Schools often end up segregated with heavy majority of certain races/income brackets by default as public schools' districts are decided by neighborhood proximity. So if you live in a low income inner city neighborhood, you're likely going to end up at a school surrounded by people that live in the same or similar nearby neighborhoods.

High school students in general do not care to be FORCED into listening to someone like him.
