i'm not sure if this is entirely true. it seems like a lot of people when you look at the internet, but if 1 million people are posting about voting for bernie and voting for him, that's a lot of people, but only a very small fraction of the voters. it's the same reason why people get scared when 100 people have died from something, even though that's practically nobody comparatively.

Primary races are supposed to be voted by Democrats and Republicans. The party decides. DNC and RNC are not government sponsored, they are their own bodies, and can do things as they wish.

Bernie voted against gay marriage in 2006, so both him and her came around to gay marriage and gay rights around the same time.

And the people of those parties have every right to abandon them if they don't go along with what they majority want.

But it's not like superdelegates are just a bunch of randos picked by a random lottery. They were also elected by the people. They are representatives of their congressional districts and of their states. At the end of the day, this is about selecting the representative of the Democratic Party. It's not the end of the world if the people who have dedicated their careers and lives to the party get to have a say. I know you don't like the party system in general, but the rationale for superdelegates in the party is pretty strong.
