Basically everyone in Washington is a lawyer or was a lawyer at some point or has a law degree. Where is the diversity? All these people have the same or similar backgrounds. We need people with different backgrounds in office so we can get the change we seek in Washington. We need doctors, engineers, business people in Washington rather than your garden variety grifters in Washington.

I know. We could use some people in office who are closer to 35 when they get into office rather than sitting on their death beds when they get into office.

I really see no problem with the abundance of law backgrounds in Congress. I trust people who've been through law school to write and pass laws. Businessmen and engineers and doctors don't have the same background in knowledge of public policy and legislation. Should we have them in Congress? Sure, and we do, but the majority having law backgrounds sounds about right.
