Lets be real here
He didn't really make her famous stateside, her debut album was like 4-5x platinum, and fearless was already the best selling album of the year (beating kanye himself by then). Also YBWM was like the most played single on the radio of the year back then.
Outside of the states she was alot smaller, but kanye didn't make her famous either. She only really broke out internationally when she started shifting to pop with red in 2012. Lets not act like speak now was any more global than fearless.
Plus she's been outselling him in asia and australia since fearless so I doubt he helped much there either
General public certainly wasn't aware of Taylor before that infamous incident at VMA. Kanye's gaffe basically propelled Taylor into global stardom hence she owes her carrer to him.

Not you trying to bring logic on ATRL.
It's pointless.
Haters will attempt to shade even with all the facts right in front of their faces.
I'm a huge Kanye fan and I still am but this make me kind of uncomfortable. Usually when Kanye 'goes off' at someone they are having an actual beef and there is some type of reason for him to go off at that person, whether he's right or not.
Taylor at that time was just an innocent yet very successful country singer who never did anything to offend Kanye.
Years after, she actually dealt with it in a very fun and professional way, presenting his VMA legacy award (or whatever the hell it was).
If there is anyone I feel who does not deserve to be dissed like this, based on the events that happened, it's Taylor, whether you like her or not.
This is not about who is more successful than the other or who made who's career, that's irrelevant at this point. It's about the relationship between them two and there was literally zero need for Kanye to come at Taylor like this. I personally think this is more uncomfortable than the VMA's in 2009 (which was kinda funny and iconic).
I hope it's some type of stunt or whatever. I will still support Kanye because he's a great musician.
All this
Funny how some people are so blinded by hate that they can't stop and think for a second.
Y'all using "I didn't know her before..." as an argument is really petty because none of you can speak for your countries and the general public, like bye.
Anyways, Taylor was huge before Kanye interrupted her and his lyric is petty & disgusting & sexist.
