Honestly, I know the Monsters started it (like always) due to making a big ass deal about her performing the national anthem, but like why are people seriously acting like that's anything close to performing for Halftime show? If she got a similar boost then that would mean the Halftime show must have been pretty dreadful since it's a much more hyped part of the super bowl. Who the **** cares about the national anthem?

It's not about singing your own songs, it's about appearing at the most watched event in the country and getting people interested in checking you out, buying your music and streaming your songs whether they knew you prior to the event or not.
Monsters got super cocky after Gaga's performance and as always started dragging everyone and everything else and bragging about it like it's their life's achievement. But now the numbers are out and Gaga's performance had the fewest viewers, her iTunes boost was by FAR the lowest and now it's revealed that her Spotify boost was also by FAR the lowest. Monsters never learn, so they can have several seats and stop all the excuses.

Some of you guys seem VERY bothered by Gaga and her fans right now. Is it that hard to just not pay attention to her if you don't like her? Well, I guess it is hard at this point since she's getting a lot of praise and attention...but still.
And the National Anthem is VERY important, I'm guessing you aren't American since you don't realize how big of a deal it is. That's something that is the easiest to criticize, something that is so much more delicate than performing an elaborate show with hit singles, lights, big production, guests, dancers and props. The anthem is a song that means a lot more to people of this country than any of the songs that will be performed in the halftime show, and it's a performance that literally is ONLY supported by the singer's raw talent. People take it very seriously. No fluff or anything can be present to make it seem better. That's a huge honor to be asked to perform it at the biggest place it will be sung all year, to the biggest audience, where some are just waiting to find fault to criticize. It means that they believe the singer is talented enough to do it justice in such a huge, delicate event.
Like Gaga said, it isn't about the singer. It's about the song, it's a uniting song for the people of this Country. Gaga nailed it and it's been hard to find any negative comments about it reported by mainstream media, or even by casual viewers. That's what matters here. Gaga didn't perform any of her own songs or make it about herself, so any boosts of her own music is just a bonus. She doesn't have any material out that is similar to her NA rendition.....her last released album was a jazz album a year and a half ago, and her last mainstream big release was over 2 years ago, and was seen as a "flop" to a lot of people. Her boosts are great.
