Architect vs carpenter argument. Who's more artistic? Neither.
Some are just more SKILLED in one area than the other whether it's writing or producing or conceptualizing. Ultimately Beyonce has to put together the vocals, the album, the videos, and orchestrate it's release strategy.
She's not Beck. She's a megawatts POP star. Remember, she was on TOUR while recording the music and filming the videos. If she did ALL that by herself she'd sleep less than she already does. I don't buy this whole "write the entire album alone" pretentious mess ya'll are serving.
Music can be as collaborative as any other art form. To put it in simpler terms, she's not a Sundance festival indie movie, she's a Oscar nominated blockbuster film. And it takes an entire team to put that together. But it doesn't detract from the director's ability.
