Bob Marley is a part of the whole "niche artist that died young" thing like Jimi Hendrix (sp? lol), Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain. Not really put together people, sort of messy, made a lowkey contribution but died young and overhyped.
Without Madonna literally none of the pretty Pop girls y'all constantly drool over and live vicariously through their chart positions/achievements thru would literally NOT exist.
I don't know how this isn't a universally known thing.

Definitely Janet but Madonna's fame was a bit more organic because she created it all herself from literally nothing. Janet had the whole family context thing, but I agree that she's severely underrated, more so than Madonna.

We are aware Madonna is a pop icon and has had a huge impact on pop music. But, we are talking about people who are so legendary that their impact transcends outside of one generation/demographic/genre etc.
