I have to call BS because Obama didn't call anyone out in his speech. Nor would he. People with a guilty conscience are the only people getting themselves butt hurt over the Presidents SOTU speech. The President is supposed to inject his logic and experience into conversations on which he has the most knowledge of because he has to deal with the issues daily.

And this almost comically uninformed statement- "As a rule, the Fed should not raise interest rates until unemployment is lower than 4 percent."

Sanders ideas are well established and supported by a lot of economists. What you guys need to understand is thar economy is not a solid science, theres a lot of "truths" that can function.

The Sanders plan actually has more support from economists than the Clinton plan.

He doesnt want to "topple" any bank. He wants to establish safeguards in case any bank gets too big, or concentrate such wealth that they become a threat to the economy if they come to fail. Banks can have a monopoly in capital transaction, and as such should be broken given the case of one of them growing way tóo big.

I should clarify, I'm not trying to be combative. My main issue with Sanders lately is his view on the Fed (as I'm sure everyone knows by now

), so I'm legitimately wondering if his supporters have a counter to that yet.

The "full employment" rate is not universally held between academics. Some say it should be 6%, some 4%, etc... . We know that unemployment helps keep inflation at base, but so does a rise in interest rate to avoid too much circulation of money / demand overcomng supply. But the rate at which UE becomes a problem is not a certain thing (again, economics is not a hard science). Bernie is obviously addressing the lowest percentage possible because it goes in sync with his message of compassionate capitalism, not much because he or his advicers are ignorant of economics.

Yeah I was going to say Bernie is right about Economics. He's the most right of any politician. Bill Clinton was the architect for the 2008 crisis. Bill was warned about getting rid of GLB Act and did it anyway right at the end of his term in office. This set the stage for what happened in 2008. Even Obama could've had better economic numbers if he had listened to economists rather than bankers as it relates to the economy. Banks are there to generate profits for themselves and no one else.

He doesnt have an issue with the Fed itself, but more so with the directives. I mean, you can check it out, many of their directives come from big bank positions.

It is obvious people with leadership positions in banking have a commanding knowledge of economics, but there is also a problem with conflict of interests. His reason to audit the Fed is different to that of libertarian loons like Rand Paul.
