Would've been Top 40 with ease without that. It's just not single material,
I don't know what they were thinking but it baffles me that they would even
have considered launching an era with it, much less making it a single at all.
The guy who wrote it specifically said he wanted it to be a modern version of "Born in the USA" Poor thing thought he could just imitate a classic hit single like that
EDIT: good thing the video includes the lyrics because it's very easy to get overwhelmed by the "BOOOOOOAAAHRNN IN THE YOUUU ESSS AAAAA" and assume it's some redneck anthem
