Because people like Miley, Ariana, Britney, Xtina, Katy, Gaga, or Rih really have the power to overshadow her these days
Love you Mikey
I want to add a little bit more: to overshadow, they better release before Taylor (like the first half of 2016), to leave the shadow behind
Edit: I think, before the releases of the ALBUMS, 2 musicians' releases are what the others think about the most: ADELE and TAYLOR SWIFT. The third one might be GAGA.
ADELE is really HUGE now, but I don't think this is a generation of once-every-4-year releases, I also do NOT want Taylor going there. I hope to see TS6 THIS YEAR...PLEASE.
Too early to say the chart performances of OUT OF THE WOODS, even though it's a MORE THAN ONE YEAR OLD PROMOTIONAL SINGLE, releasING as the 6TH single.
Edit: IF Taylor is performing at Grammys THIS YEAR, I can see 2 obvious options:
1, OUT OF THE WOODS
2, BAD BLOOD (with ft. Kendrick Lamar)
Edit2: If performing OOTW, it might reach Hot 100 Top 10
Edit3: My personal prediction is the second option though. Edit4: Like it or not, I also think BAD BLOOD ft. Kendrick Lamar is a good choice ONE MONTH later at Grammys.
Was OUT OF THE WOODS officially RELEASED as the SINGLE yet?
It was officially sent to radio yesterday or today still in the US (monday), but the massive airplay updates of the last week should have some effect on it's iTunes performance, but they just don't. Still stuck at #56 (without the Bowie songs) with a peak position of #49 since the video release.

For a SIXTH single from a nearly 9 x platinum album, iTune is not a thing ANYMORE.
Edit: I wrote about it like one year ago, OUT OF THE WOODS should have been released as a single much earlier. It's really my favorite SOUND on the album. I don't mind it closing the era, which is also perfectly fine, however its chart performances will not be very good for sure, but it's still a TAYLOR SWIFT single, so it didn't peak YET.
Edit2: The only one concern is that Taylor and her team might not promote OOTW anymore, they might just want the break to be really a break.
Edit3: But I THINK, for a break, Grammys will be a real challenge, she will keep winning for sure, how to handle that? IDK

Sales would never get high enough with the circumstances to really matter, but it should rise a bit to show that people like it.
Currently I'm a little worried about it's callout scores. It is getting these huge radio updates based on name alone at the moment, but at some point soon a positive listener reaction has to keep it going there and I'm not sure about that

Besides single sales, how about album sales?
Edit: For radios, from 1989, I have 2 favorites: STYLE and OUT OF THE WOODS they will NOT disappoint us.
Edit2: And these 2 are also what I want to see more on Taylor's next studio album, plus a little bit COUNTRY
Album sales are a lot harder to track and see if there is an effect on. We don't have pop bars for them, so just the iTunes position and that naturally changes more than singles iTunes position with discounts and big new releases every week. Plus where as singles sales are 90+% on iTunes, album sales are only like 40% on iTunes.
But it seems like it is selling the album a bit. Interested to see this weeks numbers.
Remember back when it was a promo single it made the album pre-orders explode. 2 days or something after it was releases HDD / Billboard were for the first time saying that and the album will sell 1 million first week. So it has a track record of selling the album for sure.

Another album seller is NEW ROMANTICS the bonus, if TS6 is released in 2017, please give NR a chance, Taylor.
Edit: To the other stars, Taylor and her team seem to really take the break seriously (Edit2: Break for what?), so you guys better release before August this year, or you can hope Taylor getting married this year and releasing TS6 next year.
