Oscars last year was massive for Gaga publically. Since she's toned down her look I think people have just seen how talented she really is.

It's a shame in a lot of ways IMO. Gaga wrapped in the madness of her fashion and theatrics was always so intriguing and exciting, and then she'd deliver great vocals and killer performances amidst the madness. I miss when she was revered for that, rather than called "try hard" as if it's wrong to put huge effort into what you do.

FYI: Not one of her albums has been panned to date. ARTPOP is in the 60s range on MC (with 30 critics having reviewed it) despite the media making it their full time job to rip her to shreds.
