This is what I was saying. Some people think these sales are good just because there the same as GGGB opeing numbers, but when that album came out she wasn't that much of a superstar.

Now, she is an international superstar and is wayyyyy more popular and famous than she was when GGGB came out + with all the hype, 20/20 interview with 8 million people watching, all this promo and only 162k. That is NOT good. If her sales don't at least bump to 200k with Black Friday coming up, she's gonna take a L.

Hard is about to explode and sales usually go up during Christmas season. We know she is a hit machine, but bitch needs to release the right single and stop taking risks

I'm not sure I would say this is underperforming, since it's not as if she has any strong radio presence before the album like she normally does. I think like so many other stars, her celebrity overshadowed her music. Def Jam dropped the ball with the 20/20 interview because it would have been a great platform to plug her album or get attention for her music but it stayed on her personal life and only furthered her celebrity status.

Album-wise, she can't be underperforming because this is pretty much the typical era for her. She's never had big sales so it's not as if she's selling any less than she normally has. This is the same reaction people had initially with GGGB's debut week. This maybe a little disappointing to some expecting more, but realistically, even the GGGB re-release only sold 40k when it was released even with all the hits but it sold consistently from single to single.

If her sales were lower than her other eras maybe it would be underperforming but considering it's still a strong possibility that she'll get highest sales debut of her career, she can't be especially since it's being released off no big hit singles like her others.

ya'll are missing the point if rihanna had another Umbrella and she pulled the same sales THAT would be a mess but she has a flop single & just messy releases of her singles in general so why would she debut with 300k?

its like CIARA with fantasy ride, there were alot of factors why that didnt do great even after she proved herself with the evolution

She opened with 167k and she didn't need BLACK FRIDAY and a price reduction to do it.

Actually Mimi has used the amazon price reduction. EOM sold for 7.99 in stores. Those numbers are based on the first day of sales. The black friday numbers are not even factored in yet.
