Songs used to last less in the Hot 100 before Spotify though. Billboard had to come up with a stricter recurrent rule because songs now chart for a very long time

I was looking at another forum, and there is precedent for Alicia's nom being for her less acclaimed perf - in 1991 Kate Nelligan won Bafta and NBR for Frankie and Johnny, but ended up with an Oscar nom for Prince of Tides instead.
B/c Prince of Tides like Danish Girl is much more Obviously Oscar-y than Frankie and Johnny or Ex Machina.
