When I was a senior last year, we had a new, really unhelpful and weird math teacher. One day I went on Grindr and found his profile randomly, and:

IDK if it's a scandal but an international Japanese girl at my school was raped and killed by aboriginal people in my city. She was cut into pieces and put in a public bin. And people in my school said that at night at her homstay, her homestay mom and dad would hear lights switching on and off in her room

It happened a few years before I went to this school so IDK the girl.

We had a bomb threat in 2007 that made the national news. Thank God that I had decided to just not go during that period because they all would have thought I did it. What kind of world judges the quiet, possibly gay, weird kid who's always talking about mass murder?

Oh, now that I'm thinking about it, in 2003/04 in freshman year, I think somebody did a different threat, maybe a bomb or a knife, and from what I heard in the rumor mill (nobody actually spoke to me, so I had to eavesdrop) it was somebody in my grade who was on the football team.

Also, at the start of Freshman year two students died of suspected suicide. The second guy was in my grade and had came up to me at lunch shortly before asking if I was gay or something. What really sucked was everyone thought I would kill myself next or that I would be upset. First, I would never share a suicide spotlight with anybody and second, I didn't care. Where people mourned his death, they would've celebrated mine and I think some of the staff even had a pool going as to when I would kill myself.

I think it was in 8th or 9th grade that a kid got stabbed and died. It was the first murder in town in like 8 years.

I wish I were in school these days with the internet and apps. The first iPhone was released the summer going into senior year. It would have been nice to deal with leaked photos. Of course they would have been minors. And that's bad. But still, I would've been a minor too. The best I could hope for were shirtless pix uploaded to Myspace or hiding in the locker rooms.

Biggest scandal for me was probably grade 11. Do y'all remember/have ask.fm? Where you anonymously ask people questions. There was this really nice teacher who was also the rugby coach but there was always rumours about him being questionable. So on ask.fm when people would ask this girl stuff she would always reply sexual comments about this said teacher and would use his name and pretend they did dirty stuff together. She was banned from school and the schoolboard wouldn't even let her on the property to apologize to the teacher.

A girl tried to burn herself in school bathroom. She poured gasoline all over herself and some guy came in and took the lighter out of her hand in the last moment.

Some girl got pregnant in 7th grade. This was 1998, so it was pretty scandalous because MTV hadn't yet made it cool to be a teen mom. That's all I got.

It's a yearly tradition in all Australian schools to have a thing called "muck up day"

Every year after graduating, Year 12's do random things and basically pull pranks

One year some guys egged another students car. The car had to be driven inside the middle of the whole school and be washed with a fire hose.

They also cling wrapped teachers cars to poles.
