She's never said it, but that's how I percieve. Just like how American Life has pretty basic lyrics, because it's a song about, well, American life. And then you have the balladry of the album which has fantastic lyrics.

It's clear that she had intentions with her lyrics to influence the sound on that album in particular, which is why I take what I do from Mother and Father.
