I do agree with Diarrhoea in that I think that Art Angels its acclaim stems a bit from pro-pop but also anti-mainstream critical posturing (like, say, Robyn's Body Talk), but I'd add that it does have some genuinely great tracks (unlike, say, Robyn's Body Talk). I just think the adoration would've been better spent on Visions.

I'm not sure I agree with you about Body Talk, but I do like what you have to say about Grimes potentially getting a critical boost by being pop, but not too pop.
I do like the new Grimes album, I am not sure if I like it more than Visions or Halfaxa yet, but it is solid. It's not my personal favorite of the year, but I think it does stand out in a year when there wasn't much to get excited about pop-wise and in context the album looks better, which may explain the praise.
