I mean, the best thing to do is probably use throwaway mentions where you say that it is okay to be gay or think a guy/girl is cute (depending on gender), but it isn't wrong to assume that someone is straight. But whatever, lets finally tear down the patriarchy for good.

Well first of all, thats **** but true, people don't want gay children. It's a matter of calculated risk. Basically, if you use gender specific pronouns your child will be ok if he is straight but will cause him harm if not. If you use non specific ones that he wont be harmed no matter whether he is gay or straight. It's not a hard logic to follow

Even people that grew up to identify as "straight", have had one-off same-sex experiences (or more) in their childhood.

Why would you assume your child as straight? Assuming your child is straight also encourages future speak that would convey to your child that you EXPECT them to be straight, even if they're not.

This is psychologically damaging and makes it even harder for being to come out and accept their LGBT status, if they end up not straight.

Nobody is talking about god damn toys. We are talking about expectations placed on the child because of completely avoiding the possibility of him being gay. but if this is such a problem, how about letting them tell you what toy they want.
