They haven't decreased sales in the formula, but it happens naturally because downloads are declining and streaming is increasing. At the moment sales are about 20% of the chart, by this time next year it could be more like 15%.

On HDS,
2009 Mariah peaked at #14 for the week ending December 6th
2010 #21 for the week ending December 12th
2012 #19 for the weeks ending December 9th and 16th
2013 #20 for the week ending December 8th
2011 & 2014 somewhere outside T25.
Oddly similar for 2010/2012/2013.

2008 #16 (Dec 14th). 2005/2006 had 3 weeks in the sales t10, 2007 had 2 weeks in the sales t10. Its biggest week while in the sales t10 was 61k.

Fancy/Ariana/Meghan song is non-event because is simply crap. Just like Ariana's Focus. People aren't buying bad songs.
