From one of the comments who was able to pick out the rough estimates of assistance a Syrian family will get.
More than $45,000 for each family of 4 in a huge city such as Toronto, or Vancouver
Food, housing, transport, medical, schooling, and others not yet included.
All together, this will cost us from $300,000,000 to $600,000,000 as a base starting point.
Quote:
During election, head of a private sponsor group in Toronto (can't remember name) quoted $30,000 for family of 4, but only if settled in small towns like Sault Ste. Marie. Settling them in Toronto or Vancouver costs $45,000+ for year one only. 25,000 divided by 4 = 6250 families X $45,000 = $281,250,000 for food & housing, not including transport, medical, schooling, language training etc.

Sorry, MaRy. It looks like you weren't paying attention to the debates, because you were too busy staring at Prince Charming's gorgeous eyes
This is what we voted for, so it's going to be a long 4 years at the office, and a very long receipt to put us in debt when it's all said and done.
I hope the Syrian refugees come safely here though. Praying for them.
