It would've been a flop. As an Adele stan, I honestly think it is overrated and nowhere near her best efforts (Chasing Pavements, Set Fire to the Rain) so Beyoncé most definitely couldn't have made it a hit.

Hello really isn't that good of a song. Any single released after a 21 type era would smash like this.

She puts no effort into the promotion of singles. 7/11 hit 13 and wasn't performed until September 2015 despite being released in November 2014. She performed DrIL at the Grammys and XO at the Brit Awards and that was basically a wrap for the album, singles wise.

If she took Hello and promoted it it would be top 10, probably.

In the 4 era RTW flopped because it really just wasn't a great song and it leaked. I still believe she could've gone number 1 with LOT as the lead single.

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. It just doesn't seem right that she doesn't have more number 1s, because I mean...she's Beyonce. I feel the same way about Gaga and Britney. I guess this just proves number 1 singles aren't the be all end all and you can still make a huge cultural impact without a ton of them.

How is it not her. With some imagination you can find similarities between I Was Here and Hello. She would alter the production and raise the key. It would be epic!

There are Gaga, Bey, and Britney songs that never went number one that will be long remembered compared to some of the number ones we've had. Work Bitch was a "flop" but I feel like everyone knows it, same with RTW.

So, yeah. Bey could push Hello to a smash if she just tried. No one is touching Adele's success with it, tho.
