Actually, Bieber is still probably the white male supreme of this decade, simply because he fits the 'cultural phenomenon' bill the men from other decades have. He's also sold more albums than Ginger because of the sheer amount of releases (Believe Acoustic, Believe the Remix, Believe - Festive! Version, Believe Gospel Edition, etc), and Ginger hasn't quite had that cultural zeitgeist moment, as big as "Thinking Out Loud" was.
"New Americana" has been "shaping up to be a Top 40 hit" for like 4 months now.
It's not going to happen.
The US charts are very slow. It takes centuries for alt pop songs to take off (eg, Habits, Take Me to Church, Shut Up and Dance, Pumped Up Kicks). It can still happen I am afraid
Bruno will never have an album bigger than X. He will still be very successful, but he will always be #2 for the rest of his career.
Agreed. If Uptown Funk had been on one of his albums that could have done the trick, but instead it's his "Say You, Say Me" (his most iconic hit that happened in between albums).
Xavier Dolan is quite possibly the most acclaimed filmmaker for his young age at 26. His movie Mommy won the Jury Prize at Cannes in 2014 and the next year, he was announced to be on the Cannes jury, one of the youngest to ever get a spot. He is most recently known for making the music video to Adele's Hello. Be sure to pledge your support.
conatus will be disappointed, but Josef Salvat's album is kind of....not it. Overall it sounds demo-ish, I don't know. Also he sounds more like Marina than Lana.
