I am having trouble understanding why Lana would change her name, go through like 75 name/personality changes, and then seemingly lose interest in being successful?
She is rich anyway so I see why she doesn't care that much about success. She just wanted The Fame at first.

Changing your name(once as far as I'm aware) doesn't mean you want success tho? Stage names are common among all genres. Maybe she found out that fame did not give her what she expected/wanted?

Beautiful Liar played at pre-drinks here the other week and nobody really knew it. A room full of predominantly gay people, and yet...
American clubs are very horrible in general from my experience.
They always played bad hip hop songs that nobody knew. One in every 10 songs would be some pop anthem that everyone would get hyped for but the DJ would cut it off after one chorus. There were always people buying bottles of champagne and trying to dance on tables, like their only point of reference for what being in a club should look like was some early 2000s hip hop video. And straight guys would go stand behind women so they couldn't even see their faces, and start rubbing their dicks on them like some sad mating ritual. Then move on to another girl after a minute, like some conveyor belt.
Americans are really a bit tragic.
