I think Ariana Grande and her music are reductive trash (my opinion), but let's be honest, the "Focus" chorus is the only thing cool/different about the song. It stands out, especially among all of the other generic choruses out there. Will it smash? I don't know, don't really care, but the chorus is definitely the only artistic and sonic highlight in an otherwise generic, reductive song.
It's a messy ripoff of Problem which was already tragic in its own right.
