Thunder has been gettings great Spotify updates for at least the last few days, over 110,000 streams a day for the last 3 or 4 days.
It currently her 3rd most listened to track on Spotify.
I still think Thunder has potential to do really well, maybe it could be one of those songs that just seem to take a life time to take off.
I just don't understand why it hasn't been sent to Top 40 radio in that case. The window for less established artists releasing songs is closing in due to the likes of Adele, Rihanna etc releasing soon. Are DJ seriously going to wait until January to send a 6 month old song to Top 40 radio? Maybe it has worked for other artists? I don't know.
I actually think it would be best to send a rap version of 'Thunder' to Pop radio. This may sound ridiculous but it worked for Sam Smith with the A$AP Rocky version. 'I'm Not The Only One' isn't too dissimilar to 'Thunder' in sound and tempo so someone like A$AP (or even Drake) would work on 'Thunder' I think. And even if it's not better than the solo version, a guest feature would really really help the song's chances, not only on Top 40, but also on Urban radio. That would be 4 formats it could potentially do well on - Dance, Urban, Top 40 and HAC (and AC actually which makes it 5).
