For those of you who are worried about what an entry should look like, I talked about it with Sam, and I ended up writing one that's ~the ideal length.



My album from PH7 was called "My Kingdom Come", and on my tracklist, I had a song with this title on it, but I didn't write it until now.

I wrote 2 different intros,

One I think is kinda cheesy but the concept and flow makes it really work as an intro

One that was so much meaningful and emotive but doesn't really fit the concept of the first chapter like an intro...

I guess it's time to write a 3rd! :/

I showed both to pears and his quote was "Hmmm, I really like both! The first kinda is like a short song, but this SCREAMS intro, so I'm not sure!" ugh I really can't decide!!!!

Ok judging by a lot of songs I've read so far, everyone here is very metaphorical and almost prose. I feel like i had my own lane in S6, with direct lyrics. I plan on keeping this tbh. My more metaphorical songs end up being slightly ridiculous (with the exception of A Higher Power because that aced). My lyrics are pretty much straight to the point and I don't want to make readers/listeners think too much. I don't know if I'll get dragged in judging for it, but I'm not going to change my style because I seriously like the way that I write my songs. Of course I'll include metaphor but I'm not going to go heavy on it. I'll be taking all feedback to improve myself, but I ask the judges to not try and change my style completely when giving me critiques

That was more my style as well @ausdaniel, and although I never got a #1 in S7, I did get 2 #2s and got pretty far. You don't have to be ~deep~ to go far, imo.
