I'm sorry, but this has been said ever since "Paparazzi" was announced a single for the US. I never doubted it being a hit after "LoveGame" hit #1 on pop. Do I think "Paparazzi" will hit #1? Hot 100? No. Mediabase Pop? Slight chance, but I think it'll stall in the top 3.

Just because it has been "said" doesn't mean that its true though so stop trying to force that into my head. Annoying.
And we'll see how high "Paparazzi" goes when it gets there.

I'm not trying to force anything into your head. Stop putting words I never typed in my posts.

Irrelevant argument. We will never know how Paparazzi would've fared as a first single because the fact is it's not the first. You can speculate all you want, but it's on its way to being a hit right now so that's all that matters.

Sure whatever. All I know is, is that "Paparazzi" is not a good first single material for any artist. Luckily, it wasn't a first single, or I probably would've hated her from day one. I mean, seriously, "Paparazzi" would've probably only done well on AC or Hot AC if released first. It's something that does huge in Europe, but flops in the US. It's like a watered down version of Gwen's "Cool," which also didn't do amazingly well in the US. It would've flopped worse than "What You Waiting For?" if it were released first. "Rich Girl" and "Hollaback Girl" gave it the momentum in needed to do as much as it did. The same is going to happen here, but since GaGa has three hits to back her up instead of two, I definitely think "Paparazzi" will be a hit.

But this is just my opinion. I'm not trying to change yours or anyone else's. So, please, let's not take this into some meaningless fight.

"Cool" is slower than "Paparazzi"....and didn't do amazingly well? It went Top 10 on Pop radio and Pop 100, plus #13 on Hot 100. Seems like it did pretty good to me.

You're missing the point, but "Cool" is not a good example.
Fergie's "Clumsy" is a better example, because it's the type of song that wouldn't have been too successful without the momentum created by the preceding Dutchess singles. "Paparazzi" would have been ignored if it was the lead single, because it sounds obscure compared to everything else on American pop radio.

"Paparazzi" sounds sort of like Gwen Stefani. (Especially around the middle of the track.)

Coming from successful singles doesn't guarantee that a current single will be a big hit.
"Thinking Of You" is the best example of that.
If "Paparazzi" becomes a hit is because enough people like that song, not because Lady GaGa's previous singles were huge hits.

"Cool" is completely different from "Paparazzi." "Paparazzi" has that extremely addictive hook that you just can't get out of your head. The songs are completely and utterly different. Dunno why you'd compare them.

Capitol spent hardly any money getting "Thinking of You" on the radio. I never even heard it on the radio until 3 months after its add date, while "Paparazzi" went for adds today and I've been hearing it for a week now already. And "Thinking of You" made it to #14 on iTunes, which probably could be credited to HNC and IKAG's momentum.
