Lady Gaga has slipped her disco heels on for a cover of a Chic classic, and it's as fabulous as you'd imagine.
It explains why Rodgers and Gaga were in the studio together earlier this year, but let's hope they've also cooked up some more disco magic for Gaga's forthcoming new album.
The Soul Train–inspired clip features Lady Gaga's cover of "I Want Your Love" — the 1978 hit by Chic (of "Le Freak" fame) — and it's guaranteed to make you want to cut a rug. "I Want Your Love" is regarded by many as a disco classic, and thankfully, Gaga does it justice. Her cover provides the perfect soundtrack for the visual, which is basically just a big model dance party. It's so good to hear the 29-year-old singer's voice over a stomping 4/4 beat again!
The Mother Monster, as it should be, also makes a special performance in the middle of the clip. The video was directed by British Nick Knigh and the track was produced by the duo Nile Rodgers, the Chic guitarist himself, and Phil Tan.
Tom Ford skipped a runway show this season in favor of a runway music video starring Lady Gaga, who takes on Chic's "I Want Your Love" with the help of Nile Rodgers. Great American Songbook Gaga was great, of course, but Disco Gaga is everything.
