Some music loses its appeal after time.. it doesn't mean it's forgotten. I'm pretty sure more people know of BOMT more than Empire State of Mind, they just aren't interested in listening to it.

Ed's album is already near 1.5M in SEA on Spotify, and only 1% of the world population uses Spotify.

Sooo, imagine when it obviously gets to an empire and even 10% uses it / Streaming in general. Albums will be doing 11.5M in SEA instead of 1.5M. Another reason why nobody really has any reason to go against Streaming.

It'll make stuff high/interesting like it was in the 90's.

I think with Britney people remember her amazing iconic videos, looks and dancing so they go to watch her videos for which they hear the music as well.

I mean her peak predates youtube and she has over 10 vevo certified videos and many videos at 50M+ or more.

I think people prefer to see and listen vs some where they don't want to see as much...

Because that is the best way to measure the current relevance of something that is old. That and recurrent radio play (which Britney's also is truly embarrassing and further proves the point.) How else are we supposed to measure it? By the sales it accumulated 15 years ago when it came out?
