God doesn't have to "fall back" on anything. It's always been a part of her act since the first line of her first single, "Boy I know you want me, I can see it in your eyes".
But you're right in that Rihanna is sex. But that's ALL she is. Beyonce, Janet, Madonna, (and to an extent Britney) all had "sex" songs, but they also oozed sensuality. Rihanna is just vulgar. That's why it comes as contrived to people like me.
Yeah, she's not a performer of out generation and her voice is weak but that is not the worst performance by a pop girl ever
