Well well well...
I'm just going to let this one slide...
What i will say is that objectively speaking
when Adele was slaying she was ACTUALLY slaying with #1 hits, #1 WW hits, incredible sales.
When Britney did it back in the day same thing.
When Gaga same thing
When Katy...same thing
Now taylor is
WHen it comes to beyonce, she is someone that has the media and press with all of this hoopla as if she is the top seller of her generation.
that said, when people like ATRLers or even twitter accounts that actually are familiar with sales notice her amount of #1 WW hits, #1 hot 100 hits, Top 10s, album sales US and WW and compare it to others that don't get nearly as much press to paint a picture overembellishing their success it makes people wonder
she has great press.
she has a great image.
She has good songs most of the time
she does a lot of promo
she works hard.
she sings well and dances well and puts on a good show.
Why is it that era one Norah Jones as the bigger success?
era 2 carrie underwood was the bigger success
era 3 Taylor swift was the bigger success
era 4 Adele was the bigger success
era 5 Taylor ended up being a bigger success
she crosses over. she gets played on urban ac, ac, urban, rhythmic and not much on pop
when some of the artist listed above have great songs but don't perform well or have great voices but don't put on a good show or don't have the best voices but put on great shows....
But Beyonce according to her stans can and does it all.
Yet her receipts in comparison to many others that don't have "it all" leave much to be desired.
They are respectable and pretty good but maybe many expect her to completely dominate over other female artist that have more #1s/top 10s WW, more WW sales, more US sales, more streams etc.
See the threads calculating the most streamed artists, the most #1 WW hits, most top 10 ww hits, most album sales WW, most single sales WW and it doesn't seem that the artist that "has it all" is #1 or even top 3 on these lists consistently
Short story long: WIth all the hype that surrounds Beyonce as having "it all" those that compare her receipts to other artists that outperform her wonder how does it end up that way because they expect the hype to match the actual stats and that doesn't always happen.
That's the most objective way I can say it...
