I remember when they had Miley on before the Bangerz release & when they parodied the WCS video they haggardly turned it into a political skit about "Michelle Bachman! xD!" ?
SNL is trash. There were a few funny cast members here and there, but for the most part, it was just awful. How Andy Samberg and Jimmy Fallon still have successful careers in 2015 with their dated ass humor they refuse to change is beyond me.
America ****ing hated madonna after about 2002. They hated her before but her AL era and some 9/11 comments completely ended her.
She was LOATHED in the States at the time. Insulting the armed forces in the American Life video almost had Americans ready to have her relive the Salem Witch Trials again without escape.
The propaganda right after 2001 was pretty disgusting. No artist was safe. American Life sucked but at least Madonna was trying to make a statement with it. The poor Dixie Chicks were scrutinized and mocked all over the states just because they rightfully called some people out on a pointless, racist, and terrorist-fueled war.
