Lana, ha artpop can mean anything

She's done so many genres and combined them in many ways. She's all those and more, I think.

She's pop, with influences from other genres.

There's a "Soundtrack" section, too, but that is not a genre either.

So because all of her stans are trying to be cool by listening to the newest trendy artist who is "indie" or "different" (and then jumping on a new bandwagon the next day), Lana's music is suddenly "alternative"?

Lana is simply more loved towards that crowd than she was during BTD which got her more pop listeners. BTD was more of a pop record without being normed towards US radio, UV was not. All the beats and almost all the strings got replaced by guitars. Or will you tell me that Dan Auerbach would also produce a Kesha, Tokio Hotel or One Direction record?

She can be all three options combined, I personally like using "baroque pop" for her in general.
