Considering Pink Punk's debut and song and lineup were all planned last year and probably even before that, he must've been saving these Future2ne1 girls for 2016. But after the delays, there was no point in 2 groups, and with the supposed trainees shortage, they got merged.
Im Suah is the only future 2NE1 that survived apparently, all the other ones were either eliminated or ran away.

AOA’s 1st Japanese Album “Ace of Angels” will be released on October 14th.
The full Japanese album will contain original songs, and their Japanese debut song “Miniskirt,” along with 2nd single “Like a Cat.” In addition to their latest song “Heart Attack,” there will be 11 songs total, including 3 original Japanese songs!
The lead track of the album will be “Oh BOY,” which is an EDM song with a stand out synth and sexy style.
“Heart Attack” was a song about girls singing their feelings of their heart throbbing unrequited love, and “Oh BOY” will be transforming them into “sexy teachers”!
They’ll be making their first appearance since debut on “MUSIC JAPAN.”
