Ciara needs a 5-track Re-Release EP that is Hip Hop & R&B ONLY with features. She needs to keep releasing new music.

I am not sure if that would be the right strategy. If it is connected to the era, labels tend to just keep the budget cut short, which could work in her disadvantage (especially since her label is crappy to begin with). The best thing is to release what's left on Jackie while working on a new record, and just let teh break between the last Jackie single and the first new album single be much shorter than normally.

Aww, stop! You know, I actually would be interested in an update on what's going on with the song, if you don't mind. PM or here is fine, whatever you'd prefer. But I honestly was just joking around with that post (if that wasn't clear to anyone, I'm sorry)... I definitely don't expect you to post updates every day! I'm grateful when you do and totally understand when (and why) you don't.

Here's the thing

The reason why the last 4 updates (and probably tommorow's update as well) have been awful is because the song was dropped from 2 of its biggest supporters.



The good news is that even though the song has lost a huge amount of spins (40+ spins) and its bullet is now negative and messed up, the audience impressions of the song have pretty much remained intact. Which means that the stations who dropped it or are in the process of dropping it / decreasing its daily plays are small stations who didn't contribute much AI to begin with

There are 3 moderately big stations that are just now starting to spin this song : WVEE in Atlanta, KPRS in Kansas and WERQ in Baltimore. These 3 stations alone are responsible for 20% of the AI she has right now. So, we can still hope...

Thanks for this realistic, but not pessimistic, breakdown of what's going on and what could happen next. It's super helpful. I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I'm glad to hear that some bigger stations are starting to play it.

Why this song isn't everywhere on radio, when it's better than 90% of what's smashing right now and there was a huge response to its video...

Radio is a ****ing mess. This song deserved to big HUGE.

At this point i'm over it. There is still no promo lined up, She hasn't been doing radio tours or even tweeting links. If she wanted this to be a success she should have BEEN promoting it heavily. I just don't see anything happening for this song any more. So sad! It really is a bop!

Sway played 2 songs when Cici visited his show ; DLWML and THIF. One is the current single and the other one is probably the next one. Ciara seems pretty certain that the era isn't over, so maybe she knows something we don't.

Why would there be promo lined up when the song is out of the top 1000 on iTunes despite a pretty high profile performance and a high budget video? And Ciara did do a small scale radio tour. I love my girl, but let's be realistic. You can't heavily promote a song that people are not buying and radio isn't playing.

The song remains one of the best she's ever done though
