Future is relevant, but not that relevant. Besides, urban radio is much more open to playing pop driven songs than they were back in the FR backlash, so I don't think she is or will be blacklisted.
They just can't play DLWML. They played Dark Horse, Fancy, Blurred Lines, Diamonds and other songs after they became smash hits or at least started fully taking off on pop and rhythmic. Ciara just needs to tell Russell to pay for a pop radio campaign or run back to the studio and record a better album

If they buy that smear campaign, I guess the urban audience is just as dumb as the country audience then

I think some of you are underestimating how powerful Future is right now. He got Sunset Blvd. in LA shut down twice in the same day
People think he's some savior of urban music now everywhere. #FutureHive is a (BIG) thing now. His interviews buried Ci imo (and Urban listeners love putting down women and making money so he's winning in their eyes right now). They won't play her unless she does a on trend 2on, Post to Be type song or if it's a big feature.
Also, Urban is less likely to play this song as someone said pages ago. They aren't even playing the major R&B girls' latest singles. The highest one was at #17 and it's a feature with a rapper I believe. Also, there's like 0 pop/crossover songs in the top 20 of Urban so there's that. Urban is definitely going through another fully rap period. So don't expect this song to randomly start doing better on urban until mid to late August the earliest (if it's still around then).
They need to either start pushing at pop (at least send it @ EPIC. you send every song you have for the other pop acts, why not Ci?). Or they need to scrape it and go Give Me Love on Pop only. Otherwise, they should end the era because Urban is not going to bite at the other songs (maybe Jackie BMF, the second half of the song as the radio edit version but it won't happen so ignore this).

Chile all she has to do is release the first single (urban single) off C7 in about a year or two and urban will play it again, it's not like she popped her titty out at the Summer Jam Bowl
None of the R&B girls are getting support right now.

She needs to take some tips from Onika tbh. This situation reminds me of the Roman Reloaded era where she thought she was established enough on urban to give them up for a little while and go pop, but they turned their backs on her (I Am Your Leader, The Boys, Champion flopping).
She needs to spend the entire second half of 2015 and Q1 of 2016 collaborating with urban artists, uploading stuff on Soundcloud, remixing big urban hits etc.
Then, she can come back at Q2 with a hot urban single with a feature.
Then, she can release a crossover hit and C7 along with it.

I don't think she's blackballed/blacklisted per say BUT it's clear Urban is choosing to support Future over Ciara in this whole thing and basically showing solidarity with Future. I personally thought DLWML would at least be getting more adds at this point. The first single didn't flop on Urban. She was positioned just as good as I'm Out was after Body party and DLWML is more R&B/Urban leaning than I'm Out. So it's starting to become clear, other forces are at play preventing DLWML from doing better. Also, there's the whole fact that the video didn't even help the song get more adds or any kind of radio buzz (at least another pop add would have been nice). Usually after a hot video like that, radio is talking the week after and adding the song.

Future's smear campaign is big. I wouldn't say he has power equivalent to even that of like, any established early 2000s rapper, but Urban won't touch her now because of him. Luckily, most of the rest of the press has been on her side and outside of Rap gossipy websites, most coverage has been critical of his thinly veiled misogyny, but it doesn't stop him from still making the headlines. He's put the brakes on any traction she's going to make with non-pop music but in terms of her image with the GP (acclaimed videos, acclaimed tour, new boyfriend, popular model) he hasn't hurt her as bad as some might think.

I do see the parallels to that. The only difference I would say is that Nicki had one huge hit that same year on Urban (Beez in the Trap) then a ok followup (Right By My Side) and Ciara kinda just has a moderate hit (I Bet) and that's it.
Ciara should just get back to features and get success that way for awhile. Let's be real, it's the only way in this day and age for most Urban artists. Also, Epic mishandling this whole situation makes it even harder. It seems Epic is only good with artists once they actually have one breakthrough hit (see Meghan Trainor and Fifth Harmony) and handles them way better from that point on.

5H was mishandled many times. If it wasn't for the entire fanbase, 5H was never gonna make it I couldn't count how many times the stans attacked Epic for their dumb moves on 5H's career
Meghan is lucky, Epic didn't do a thing
At this point I feel like she really should leave Epic. I thought if Meghan and 5H slayed - and they did, Epic would've had some room to breathe and handle Ci better. But I was wrong - they're still clueless as ever
I really think Ci should go full pop now. They can NickJonas her - establishing her image again as a "new" pop act. With her celebrity status as high as ever now, it's an easy thing to do. And I do feel like she's enjoying making pop music than urban nowadays. Once she's big on pop again, she can throw 1-2 urban singles and slay. Kinda like Taylor Swift in Red era.

Epic has done better with 5h Post-Worth It and Meghan Post-AATB is what I was saying. Before that, (at least 5h) was being mishandled. I agree, rebrand ha!

I'm so here for all of this
The problem is that there's not a single song on Jackie that can do that well on pop. Maybe DLWML could be a top 30 hit there, leading the way for her next era. Maybe Lullaby with a remix for a 2000's throwback? But that's it. The other tracks wouldn't work

Only the chorus and bridge are really pop-y. I'm Out sounds like a rhythmic pop song essentially.
Even Nicki's rap verse, the beat doesn't get as Urban as it could. Urban would need a more deeper bass, snaps, snare and 808 which I'm Out doesn't have much of at all.

THIF/OWA
They need to push DLWML first tho
5H took 2 mediocre singles to have a big hit, and that's with a huge supporting fanbase
I don't expect her to have a hit rightaway, but DLWML will do more damage on pop than urban at this point. They can either move on to C7, or release THIF to use the collab hype

Girl, OWA would have been a moderate hit in 2009 / 2010 maybe, but now it's dated as ****
As for THIF, we all need to hop off the bandwagon. The collab hype has been dead since June. The track's individual sales and streaming are low. Pitbull's current single underperformed despite promo and Missy's Superbowl momentum is gone. The song itself is not fully pop, so it will need urban support and at this point, it won't get it. Everything works against it.
I'd suggest one of the ballads, but they're not strong enough and Ciara is not known as a ballad singer, so they won't work. They just need to focus on DLWML, it's her only strong option. It has a lot of pop elements, it can work

you never know. Fight Song is dated as **** and they're living for it like, wtf? I still have faith in OWA, it can be a feminist song hyped by Buzzfeed
THIF is a desperate option I admit. But I really want a mv for that
