Tbh I think we can blame a lot of current stanning on Gaga. I wonder how different it would be right now if she didn't debut.

I blame her too, she created a rabid cult-like culture and her little monsters attached themselves to her, living through her achievements vicariously and attacking anyone who'd dare breathe in the same space as mommy monster.

I blame twitter as well because it gave those types of stans a medium to project their vitriol.
