She HAS influenced quite a few: Nicki, Xtina when she was trying, a couple of Katy things here and there. i don't see how she influenced Rihanna, Britney, pink, kelly or taylor though

It's sad because she's so talented and I say this in objectivity...back when she first came out she had the unique ability to be a Whitney/Mariah & Janet/Madonna as she couldn't sing as well as W & M but close to it and she couldn't perform as well as J &M but she did enough to do ok.
The problem is she REINVENTED herself horribly.
Britney already had her foot on Christina's neck from the beginning but Christina could have at least tried to give her competition. Instead, she kept doing things after her (pepsi, dancebeat, schechers, turning sexual etc.) making it seem like she was copying her and then taking shots at her so she just had a bad look
If Christina had a good run she would have been able to come for britney's neck at pop, Beyonce's neck at r&b, pink's neck at pop/rock and Shakira's neck at latin pop.
Instead she horribly reinvented herself losing her core audience and then took shots at her rivals only to appear bothered.
Her first era was great. the pop girl that could sing was her trademark
However, she completely misstepped with the image during stripped.
Had she done a back to basics classic look during stripped instead of a raunchy dirty look she would give both Pink and Beyonce a run for their money.
Had she then followed it up with a half english/half spanish...shakira who?
Had she then followed that era up with her dirtty raunchy image instead of that dated futuristic thing it would have been ideal time.
outside of her 1st era, all her reinventions were poorly timed and horribly executed just making it easier for Britney to continue to keep her foot on her neck, Pink to soar past her doing extra acrobatics, shakira to put people in a trance telling truths with ha hips and Beyonce to be the diva of R&B despite the fact that back in the early 00s people LOVED xtina for her raw, emotion filled vocals and would prefer to hear her sing r&b and soul music over Beyonce with less rawness, grit and emotion.
She just lied down and allowed those girls to claim their respective thrones without giving them adequate competition.
