It was a good move to make this apology after realising her previously released statement had not placated the backlash. Also just filming herself talking directly was much better than another printed statement. She did the right thing in acknowledging she made an error and not attempting to justify it with nonsense about American food industry issues.
This backlash was threatening to give her bad publicity that could have dogged her for years. I hope that it will all blow over and that Ariana will learn from this. Being in the public eye means everything she says and does will be scrutinised and as an entertainer she relys on the good will of the GP to remain popular. When it gets to the point where radios are blacklisting you, then you cannot just ignore the backlash, even if you consider it unjust. She needed to take this step and she did. Let's hope everyone can move on from it.
It's how you act after you screw up that often seals your fate and both her apologizes don't come off as sincere.
America is what made her a millionaire and a lot of people probably don't appreciate her saying she hates her country when she has gained so much from it. The last thing someone struggling paycheck to paycheck is some snotty millionaire whining how she hates her country.
I guess in Ari's case it's the effort that counts. Both apologies were bad and she should have only needed 1 in the first place. The girl can't handle controversies it seems but she's gonna learn today.
