I don't know if its the fact that I'm officially too old for mainstream music or the fact that mainstream music really just has been that awful lately.
I used to atleast tolerate/somewhat enjoy half of the Top 10/20/40 on radio but now I genuinely can't stand 90% of it.
Same tbh. It gets worse every year, I enjoyed 2012 and 2013 a lot but 2015's urban wave isn't cutting it for me.
Burnin' Up was kinda a big Summer hit. It went #5 on Hot 100, and #12 on Pop Radio. & It was so big / they were so big at the time it got nominated for Video of the Year @ VMA's.
I think it was their only hit outside the Disney audience though.
Paranoid, Kids of the Future, Lovebug, Year 3000, SOS, and their collab with Miley were big on Disney though.

They had an album open with 500k+. Bieber never did it.
Minions Nabs $115 Million in Second-biggest Animated Opening Ever
Another big accomplishment? Minions is only the fourth film this year to crack $100 million. Even more impressively, three of those four have been from Universal. (Furious 7 and Jurassic World are both Universal films, and Avengers: Age of Ultron was released by Disney.)
