I've been banned for a month so missed ATRL when this dropped, but GFY is incredible. I applaud Selena maturing into a direction she hasn't gone before, completely atypical for her and her previous material. No desire to run to Max Martin or Dr. Luke to try ad gain a quick disposable pop hit like others. And personally I like the music video's simplicity, especially after watching the BTS. It's the first time she seems hands on with her artistry, doing songs and visuals she truly wants to do, so that's exciting to see for any artist.
I remember tweeting I didn't see it being a success for her when it dropped because of how un-commercial it sounds, especially compared to what has worked and smashed for her in the past, but the fact it's her first digital #1, her first top 10 debut, her first worldwide top 10 and the highest debut sales of this year is amazing.
Oh and also, have y'all not seen how well the song is doing on Spotify? No one seems to be mentioning it. Already 1M+ daily streams worldwide and top 10 in US daily streams. Usually songs that a while to climb like that, the song isn't even two weeks old and already up there.
