A song sells
mainly based on the song itself. A part of it may be the exposure of the artist, for example, Lady GaGa struggled to make Just Dance a hit until she FINALLY got her name out there and now she can get Top 10 hits without breaking a sweat. But the point is, no matter how you stans feel, if Beyonce recorded a cover of "The Wheels on the Bus," it would not be a hit. Because nobody wants to hear something that ****ed up (except Lil Mama, but... that's a different story). All those songs mentioned with featured artists got as high on the charts as they did because people liked them. It's almost like saying "Umbrella only became a hit because of Jay-Z" when he has one short rap at the beginning of the song that is a cool intro, but really kind of irrelevant to the entire song. Keri has a bigger part in KYD than Ne-Yo and Kanye combined, and the song is on her album. So it's her song. She got the hit. Congrats to her. Now can somebody please teach her how to SING.
