I agree with her that Apple is wrong for this 3 month thing. But can she stop with this "I'm doing it for the little artists"? Labels are the ones that agreed with this rule and are the ones that make big money off music sales and streaming. Fight the real enemy.

I agree with everything she's said about Apple and I hope they do come to an agreement/change their minds, because I think as she said, this could be the streaming service that is perfect and gets everything right.

Any music consumer calling her greedy is simply a selfish, self-serving entitled twat. Like she said, Apple can afford to put out this free trial and still compesate the stakeholders but opt otherwise. Apple can afford to give millions of free iphones but does it make a business sense to? Adele has sold over 30million copies of 21, does that mean i can walk into a stockist and demand a copy in exchange of no payment?
Some arguements are so preposterously flawed, it makes me question people's intelligence on a daily basis

She's so transparent

Because the album is selling. Why would she put it on streaming services to ruin that?

And so is Red/Speak Now, her catalog sales are all amazing
She's only using Spotify/Apple for promo, but that's ok, she's smart, can't blame her

So why is she allowing the rest of her catalogue to be streamed there? Why didn't she pull it completely like she did with Spotify?

The only reason why Apple is making it free for 3 months is to attract users. If they didn't make it free for those 3 months, people probably even wouldn't want to join aside from Apple stans. It's a marketing techinque, and it would most likely work, seeing that it was way more benefits than Spotify. People don't care on how much the artists are being paid, so poor tidal.

Wow, this should be the front post of every Apple Music debate. I also don't think that music should be free. Let's not forget that artists do music as a job. It's music listeners who perceive artists as a source of entertainment only, ignoring the business behind it. If you fail to comprehend how the music industry works and condemn artists who fight for their right, then you are selfish and take music for granted. It doesn't matter if you already have a ton of money, no one would want to work for free. What Taylor is doing is a voice for every artist and is so respectable.

Let it out Taylor, let the gospel all out.

Taylor is undoubtedly one of the most intelligent people in the music industry at the moment. I agree 100% with this post. I know people will probably accuse her of not supporting Apple solely because she will lose money from it, but honestly, I don't think that's the case. Like she said, she's on her fifth album, and all of her albums have been successful. It's not like she's in desperate need of money. But there are a lot of artists, and she's friends with some of them, that are newer and could use that money to help them. Besides, I'd be disappointed if millions of people were buying my music and I wasn't getting paid for it.
I've never been a huge fan of streaming anyways, I like to just purchase the music because it's more convenient for me and I've always liked it better. So, I can see where Taylor's coming from. And I also think from all the major streaming services right now, Apple Music could be the one to change streaming forever, so I agree with Taylor there, too.
I also found the iPhone drag quite amusing.

The problem is not the 3 months free period though.
It's not because Apple Music won't make profits during 3 months that they can't pay the artists, that's not fair.

This.

Well duh
Why is EVERYONE in here acting shocked at the fact she wants the highest album sales she could get?
That's what all of our faves aim for, why do you think they're on GMA? Cause of the fans? Hell no, they want people to buy their ****
That would be my aim if I was a musician
Taylor is not some God gifted musician who doesn't care about money as long as she makes amazing music, she's a popstar, her job is literally to make the most amount of money possible

Because she only sees money. She only think about money, money and money. She doesn't even care about the experience that the listerners could apreciate with her music. Taylor is the face of chaotic american capitalism.

What an embarrassing post especially in a thread that has a very good explanation about the issue at hand. Anyway, to quote myself "It's music listeners who perceive artists as a source of entertainment only, ignoring the business behind it. If you fail to comprehend how the music industry works and condemn artists who fight for their right, then you are selfish and take music for granted. It doesn't matter if you already have a ton of money, no one would want to work for free." But since I see you going in every Taylor thread to spew negativity, I think I'm trying to reason with a dead wall.
